Isle of Arran
The Isle of Arran is on the west coast of Scotland and is easily accessible. Only 1 hours drive from Glasgow and 55 mins on the ferry. The Bennan Smiddy is down at the South end of the Island and has panoramic sea views with fantastic sandy beaches a short walk or drive away. You can go tandem paragliding with Flying Fever or walk the Arran coastal way. The photo above is of Silver Sands beach in Kildonan. A marine protected area extends around the south end of Arran.
Arran is divided into highland and lowland areas by the Highland Boundary Fault and it has been described as a "geologist's paradise"
